Hello all,

Today i saw some ghost shrimps at my lfs, and was wondering whether to get a few or not. So i thought i would ask you guys a few questions about them.
Firstly are they any good at removing algae from plants ?
Also in my tank at the moment i have 2 dwarf gouramis, 5 black neons and 4 corys. Would any of these fish eat the shrimps ? as they are very small at the moment.
Also does anyone know how big they grow? At the lfs it said 1 and a 1/2 inches

Sorry for all the questions but i couldnt find much info on them

Thanks for looking

ghost shrimp are very interesting and at the same time beneficial to your tank. they get about a inch long, and they will devour any left over food. you shouldnt have to worry about them being eaten. only large fish will consider these a snack. i have about 17 in my 55 gallon (added 10 last night) and im hoping they will reproduce so i can have a few for my 10 gallon.

Actually, males get to an inch long, but females get to 2 inches long. I've had many before.

freshwaterfish, uhh, no, not all shrimp eat algae. Its like saying all fish are herbivores.
