Betta with Cherry Shrimp

Dont forget they are shoaling fish.

I have 13 of them

I know but I usually keep 5 at a time (it's all I can safely do in a 6gallon. They always seem to be happy and live nice lives.

I put a betta in with a bunch of cherry shrimp and plants. He's way too lazy to go after them, and even if he did, he'd never catch them. The tank is full of plants, so the shrimp have the advantage of speed, agility and obstructions in the way.

Ohhh this is a dream to me. I wish I knew I could find a lazy one! You're so lucky!
When I tried it years ago the baby female betta went absolutely mental and just never slowed her murderous rage. She hunted non stop and never missed her mark.
It was terrifying and quite impressive. She was only in there a few hours before she was moved into another shrimpless home. ha
