Getting New Fish With Current Fish In The Tank (2 Rainbows, 1 Goldfish

I want to get some new fish for my tank, I have 2 rainbows and one goldfish already in the tank (They're all about 2 and a half years old, the goldfish although is really huge and fat). Can i put new fish in it or will my old fish attack the new ones?? I was looking at these particular ones that i like. Will any of these be compatible?

Bumble Bee Goby
Cobalt Blue Zebra
Black Ghost Knife Fish

Recommend me any nice colorful ones that u think will be good?

how big is the tank?

of the 4 fish you mentioned 2 are african cichlids (which don't mix well and need fairly specific conditions), one is brackish (the goby) and the BGK gets very large

Yes you really need to post tank size, ph etc. The ones you have suggested aren't suitable additions.

Your rainbowfish would likely benefit from being in a larger group than 2.

Goldfish and tropical fish aren't a good mix. Goldfish are cooler water fish.

You should definitely up your shoal of rainbows, as they are a shoaling fish, and you should look at re-homing your goldie to another tank (or a pond if it is a 'normal' goldfish and not a 'fancy' one)

Stay well away from the Astatotilapia latifasciata and the zebra, as they are African cichlids and far, far too aggresive for your other fish.

Both species of bumblebee goby prefer brackish water. The BGK can grow to 20", so is too big for your tank.

If you could post the pH and hardness of your water, we'll be better able to recommend some suitable species for you

And as already stated, you need to up your rainbow numbers as they live in groups, and your goldfish shouldn't be living in there with them. It's difficult to make suggestions knowing this is your current stocking and not knowing if you're prepared to address it.

Goldfish should not be kept in a tropical fish tank. Goldfish are Coldwater fish - they live in temperatures of 0-18C, whereas Tropicals generally enjoy 24C. The goldfish will be outside their normal temperature range, which can lead to stress and disease.

Just because you have kept it in there for 2 years doesnt make it right. If you are going to keep fish then you should at least meet their needs properly.
