Hi, i have a medion pc here are the specs:

Microsoft windows XP,
Professional Computer,
Intel®,
Pentium 4 CPU 2.60 GHz,
2.61 GHz,
512 MB of RAM,

But i want to get more from my pc like make it quicker and start up quicker from when i press the on button, can someone help me please? Thanks Chris.

I suggest you DONT use OcUK... it may be big but it certainly isnt clever...

Try http://forums.hexus.net A much more friendly forum :)

Things you might want to try are...

Go to your control panel, then Add/Remove Programs. Remove any programs you dont think you need or things such as "Search Toolbars" or things like that that you dont recognise.

Also, right click on your computer, go properties, then advanced, and find the option for Virtual Memory adjustment. Make sure it at a minimum of 512mb and a maximum of 512mb. If the mimimum is any more set the maximum to the same.

Another thing you can try is Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrangmentor. Both in your System Tools, In Accessories In the Start Menu.

What may be slowing down your comp is that when it is running there is to many programs running within the processor, clogging up the speed. Within the control panel, you will find a section which will show you just how many programs you are running at one particular time, and their size. Look at taking some off your startup.

Didn't help you with your problems?
Well the forum ahs been extremely helpful to me, and I find the fact that there is a large member base very useful, as nearly any question will get some answers.

It is big, and it IS clever :)

What was your bad experience with em? May I ask?

Oh there is a very easy way to make your pc faster go out and do what I did
buy about a GB of DDR RAM upgrade your cp, motherboard. Run programs like spy ware removers, defrag every night. Clear your cash on your browser every time you go on. Save files only to second hard drive, floppy, or cd/dvd.

My hard drive is cleaner than Mac accounting practices and speeder than a Mexican mouse.
