Well I finally went out and got a copy of Windows for my Macintosh laptop, I decided to use Vista Ultimate.
For those of you who don't know, since Apple went to using Intel processors for their computers, now us Mac people have the opportunity to use windows as well. There are a few ways of doing this, I chose a free download called Bootcamp; Using this program allows a person to partition off some of their hard drive and install Windows XP or Vista on it. Now I have the ability to use some of my old Windows only software when I'm on the road, it's quite amusing.
I have to say that booting windows is a lot faster than I thought it would be, I've got a 2 ghz core 2 duo processor and 2 gb of RAM and that seems to do the trick nicely. I've also got to hand it to Microsoft for trying to make Vista look good, they've copied a thing or two from OS X (can't say that I blame them.) but the Vista experience is much nicer aesthetically speaking than it was with XP.
I can tell you one thing, I'm never going online while booted up in Windows. I'm really tired of getting viruses and malware so am sticking to Mac OS X for my online duties. Other than that, I'm having fun with Vista. And when I'm done playing around I can always just reboot into good old OS X (which only takes 5-10 seconds for either Vista or OS X) and use all my favorite stuff.
I figure with my new computer, I can have the best of both worlds!
