Hello Betta forum :good:

I used to be a member of this forum in general I think sometime last year or maybe 06 when I had a several tanks including a big 300 litre corner, but after losing most of my fish, I lost interest and took the remaining ones back to the LFS and gave up for a while.

But, of course, this hobby has come back to haunt me and I've decided to start fresh with a nice, small tank and a single Betta. And since I've never tried a proper planted tank before, I'm gonna try to go down that route too.

i've already done some searching for UK Betta breeder's websites and found KGBettas and JobysBettas, but if anyone can recommend anymore (that are likely to have nice stock in the next month), I'd really appreciate it.

Well, that's about it. Just thought I'd announce my presence before I start bombarding the forum with questions and such. ;)

C.

Edit: Almost forgot, here's my future Betta's new apartment :)

Hi and :hi:

We should have some halfmoons available in the next month or two depending on how quickly they grow.

We have babies from these two males at the moment which are approx 2 months old.

Wow, gorgeous  Would defo be interested when they are ready.

Thanks....the babies are looking gorgeous at the moment and just starting to show some colour. The red dragon fry are predominantly red and the purple halfmoon fry are show purple colours and cambodian....which mum was.

Just keep an eye on our (mine & Bronzecat) siggies......it'll be updated as soon as they are ready :good:

Will do, cheers.

Can you keep me posted still netty, I would be interested in some female fry!

Thanks

Absolutely Wilson :good: hopefully our website "Betta Paradise" will be up and running by then too. It's being built for us at the moment.....just a few more bits to add.

Thought I'd update with a couple of low quality (only have a webcam  ) pictures of my tank so far :)

Cycle is going well. Seeded my DIY sponge filter with some media from a friend and it's already processing nitrite, so shouldn't be waiting long now.

Added some plants too. Riccia netted down and onto wood and some Amazon Swords which are nice. Got my DIY CO2 going too. Still experimenting with mixtures and waiting for my drop checker and diffuser to come.

Anyways, here's some pics so far.

PS - promise to buy a decent camera once I'm done spending money on a new tank :good:

Ooooo, I love the way that wood looks! I have some petrified wood in one of my tanks that looks pretty interesting.

oooooo very nice. Now that is what a proper betta tank should be! Certainly good to have you back in these forums :)

Netty and Bronzecat would certainly be good breeders to buy from. It's hard to find quality breeders... let alone breeders that you have the opportunity to stay in touch with. :good: (I wish i was in the UK :p)

Hurry up and make that Riccia grow.... and get that camera... and then quit spending money on fish so you can buy a Carrera GT already!

<---- Porsche fan (read CAR fan)... but especially a Porsche fan

That's looking great.......and love the wood in there :good:

Cheers for the plug ReMz......just trying to get these babies grown on now :good:

Thanks for the kind words. Haha, will be saving for a while before I can get my Carrera GT B-)

Got one of those 25 plant packs off eBay delivered today aswell as my CO2 diffuser. I may have overdone it a little on the amount of plants I've put in, looks very jungley, but I kinda like it. I'll hold off on the pics til I've got a camera :p

Definatley interested when your HMs are ready, Netty =) Hoping my filter will be cycled by the end of next week.

No probs....can just picture one of my babies in your new jungle tank.....you'd never see him
