I'm really like the look of German blue rams and I am taking 2 honey gouramis out of my 110 litre tank and was wondering if I could put a pair of gbr in to replace them.

The tank dimensions are
80cm long
35 cm deep
45cm high

The water conditions are
Nitrate 10ppm (comes out the tap at that number so can't be reduced)
Nitrite 0ppm
Ph 7.6
Ammonia 0ppm
Carbonate 6d
General hardness 8d
Chlorine 0

Tank mates
10 panda Cory's (0,0,10)
3 honey gourami (1,2,0)
8 neon tetra (0,0,8)
2 apistogramma cacatuoides (1,1,0)

If rams can't go in the tank what other interesting cichlid or another pair of fish would get on with the the water parameters, size and other tank mates from Tom

Hmm, the only thing is the apisto cac's.  110L is too small for a pair of gbr's and cac's I believe.  Both get super territorial, especially if either are spawning, and both occupy the same mid to lower region of the tank.   I think it would be chaos; someone would die.  For a tank that size I would stick to only one pair of dwarf cichlids.  I used to have a pair of apistos in my 240L, and they were so nasty to everything when there were eggs in there, even my 6"+ discus pair.  I have a pair of gbr's in my tank now, and they haven't started to spawn yet, so we shall see.  The cory's, gourami's, and tetra's will be fine with either.  The only other issue I see is your hardness and ph are a bit high for rams tbh.  They are super sensitive and there are so many weak strains about now, it's a bit of a gamble.

I just added two blue rams into my 75 gallon. They are tank mates with a large rope fish, a pair of medium sized silver shark cats, some small ctentopoma and a couple various other fish and loaches. Time will tell as to who will dominate where. I just moved a bunch of fish from this tank, so they have plenty of room to roam without anyone to bother them. The rams and ctentopomas may have issues down the road. I keep my tank at 7.0, Id prefer to go a little higher, but I don't want to stress out the rope fish.

I am considering a pair of GBR.   My nitrates average around 30-40 although I recently added plants so that should bring it down.  pH averages around 7.2.   Other parameters are right on the mark.   I have a 35 gallon tall hex around 24 inches at the largest diameter and 24 inches high.   The tank mates would be 4 smaller corys, 1 dwarf gourami, a siamest algae eater,  3 white skirt tetras and 2 Bolivian rams.   Does this look to you like it would work out for the rams.   I read that two male GBR could harrass each other .   Is that true?  If so,  I'd seek out a male/female pair.

Why are you nitrates so high right now?  You would def have to get that a little bit lower for gbr's.  They tend to be quite sensitive to nitrate.  Yes, two males would not be good.  Most people get a group of 5 or 6 when they are young, and let them pair off, or buy an established pair.  They are pretty difficult to sex when they are very young, but relatively easy to sex when they are older and coloured up a bit more.  I just added a male to my one female because the last one died of unknown causes (another issue with rams), and things are looking good so far.

I'll be doing 2 30-40% water changes per week if needed to lower the nitrates.   I do have some new plants so that should help with the nitrates.   I have a test kit and will monitor.  All are parameters are excellent.   Do you use any peat moss to lower your ph?   Mine is close to neutral ph so I may be ok without it, especially since I added some driftwood.

No, I don't use anything at all because the ph in my tank is already 6.2-6.0, and the water here is very soft.  Planting up your tank will help with the nitrates a bit and floating plants are really big nitrate drinkers, if you would want to try that.  If you got tank bred rams, they should be okay with a ph near 7.  I really only see that being a problem with wild caught rams tbh.  Peat moss should be okay, but avoid any store bought products that claim to lower ph.  You want a stable ph rather than a ph that is constantly changing.
