Garden Hose In Aquarium

Anybody have an idea how i can use a garden hose to fil up my aquarium after i have drained it. It is clhorine free and i can detoxify any heavy metals that may be there. How can I even out the temperature?

My mother-in-law's hose has a soft rubber connecting attachment, along with a [clamp mechanism that is tightened/losened by a flat headed screw... sorry, their real name has escaped me]. This worked pretty well to fill up the 540l originally, we just had to wrap a towel around the tap/rubber attachment to soak up the few high-pressure leaks.

Ever since then I've used my two dedicated fish buckets holding 5 gallons in total, to carry fresh water down to the garage (typically ~4 times to give ~15% water change)... But the more I read on here about member refilling from cold tap on their tropicals, the more I'm tempted to do this with my cooler tamp requirements riverine fish!

Just fill a bucket and add your dechlorinator and put that in first first, then fill up with the hose. You can add buckets of warm water to even out the temperature as it is filling up. If you have fish in it while this is happening dont worry too much as long as the water isnt freezing cold, just keep testing with your hand as you go. I know lots of people on here dont bother to add warm water if they do large water changes - the heater will slowly bring it up to the right temperature, but personally i like to.

if it a full refill with no fish
in it should be OK all i used to do
was put my dechlorinator in before i started
to fill the tank but don't fill to the limit
you need as you could use a couple of buckets
of hot water to bring it up to temp . i used to
run my tap water through a two pod water filter
then straight in to the tank after doing 25 to 30%
water changes yes from the cold tap and with no problems

An outfit like Home Depot or Ace Hardware will sell a universal adapter. Unscrew the aerator off of a faucet, attach the adapter than the hose. Adjust hot & cold to the tank temperature, and fill it up.
