I would love to know anywhere in my locale selling Galaxy Rasbora's.

I live near Christchuch on the S.Coast, Hampshire / Dorest boarder.

TIA

Andy

They are almost extinct in the wild, so you may find it hard. Good ole fish importers have decimated them :(

I've got them breeding now and a friend in lymington has quite a few fry and we will hopefully have home breed fish for sale soon, but these are very slow growing, saw brians 2-3 month old fry and their just starting to get some colour now

Lymington, cool. I'm in New Milton, so only 7 miles away. Let me know if he wants to sell any?

Cheers for now,

Andy

Their original location has been dessamated. new locations have been found yes but the same can happen and will likely as the 1st lake was fished to almost extinction is only 12 months!!!!!

People should buy from breeders to help stop this problem, surly Singapore will have their gear's working with this species, but till they get enough breeding stock we should suport breeders

Indeed there were six (6) in the planted show-tank on the desk - but they were not for sale, nor were (/ are, I asked just the other day, hence this thread) they getting any...

Thanks for the brilliant replies so far peep! :good:

Yep, sound advice from helter there. He showed me a breeder chappie in Hordle - hell that's (almost) walking distance, so if you're interested (and anyone else for that matter), I hope no one minds mr giving that chap a shout:

Just so your warned yes brian @ kilifishsales.co.uk is breeding them and will be selling them but when i checked on him friday, he's only get a few so please dont expext loads of fish and done expect them soon as the oldest firy are now just 8-10 weeks old

No, fair enough...

It will be a while before I 'stop faffing about' (as my wife so kindly puts it) and sort out the intended tank.

Thanks again,

Andy

They were selling like hotcakes at my lfs, adn then all of a sudden they stopped getting them in, adn i have seen many people requesting them, so it looks like they are extinct somewhere else.

If anyone wants to try their hand at hatching eggs I collect mine and put them into a nano tank (parents are in a bare bottomed tank). PM me if anyone is interested in breeding their own, got a colony of upto 20 adults breeding like rabbits so collecting and water incubating them is not a problem.
