It depends on the color, but you should start seeing some by 1-2 months old. The color will continue to develop as they get older, and even sometimes through their lifetime.

Whether they will take after their mother or father all depends on the dominant genes. It's impossible to say for sure what they'll look like unless you know exactly what the parents have in them and know about Guppy genes. Usually they'll come out a mixture, but sometimes they'll lean more towards one parent or another. It's just hard to say. What colors are the parents?
