So the larger tank back fired on me for the time being. I still have all my fish but in 2 tanks. The 80 and 100gal.

How bad do you think my stock is? I even mesured the fish in the move so I know how big they really are.

100gal 60"x16"x24"
1 severums 7" (going on 2 year)
1 red severum 4"(almost a year old so I don't know if he will grow much more)
2 uarus 5-7" ( over a year)
1 true parrot 7" (had her almost a year she is still growing)
1 blue acara 4.5" ( 3 years old)
1 ebjd 4" ( going on 2 years)
2 pictus 3-4"
1 bn pleco 3" (3 years old)
1 bulldog pleco 4"

80gal 48"x18"x22"
7 discus 3"-4.5" ( all pet store rejects I don't think they will get huge)
1 festivum 4" (he's a year old)
1 bn pleco 2"
1 clown pleco 3"
1 ram 3"
* I now have added to the tank*
2 Angel 3-4"
7 Cory cats 2"
6 random left over difthers that did not become lunch 2"

I also added plants to the discus tank. So now it is what most discus people would say it's not a good set up for discus. Everyone is getting along. The festivum got a nipped fin from the female angel besides that all is fine.

I think as of now with the size my fish are I'm fully stocked almost over stocked. But I find over stocked tanks to be more peaceful.
What do you guys think?

I reckon your going to be fine for quite some time :)

I would call both sevs the BA and the JD all full or near full grown most fish will make 2/3 of their full size in 18 months (I say months as there are some exceptions like geos etc) The only problems I can see are the Uaru and Parrot in about 6/8 months maybe longer as they start to exceed 10 inches (if they do I know your Uaru were in a bit of a state when you got them so they might not make full size) and then its just an issue of tank width, with it being only 16 inches (appologies if I have read the dimensions wrong and its actually 24 inches front to back in which case ignore) but if it is 16 inches front to back its perhaps a small foot print for the larger fish.

The other thing to take into consideration are and its the cichlid keepers get out clause (within reason) all cichlids are different and if it works it works. Your a very responsible and knowledgeable fishkeeper so if problems arise I think thats when you need to act but by that point a bigger tank might be an option :)

Thanks. You got the size right is 16" front to back and 24 deep. I think my parrot is te only one still growing. Yes the uarus were is bad shape when I got them and I think they are stunted. I am keeping an eye out for a 150 wide.

The uarus were fighting when I woke up. But they worked it out now they are being bossy with the others. I really think they male and female they act like a pair. I have a love hate thing going on with them. I think they are great and lots
of fun but at the same time bossy jerks. They would be the ones that go.

Good advice from Wills.

Your 80 Gall seems fine to me, although you are pushing the limits of your 100 Gall.
In all honesty though, it's really hard to judge without seeing the actual tank itself.

But, in the end, if it works, it works ! If your filtration and WC schedule is up to the job for the stocking levels you have, and the fish are not showing signs of stress from overcrowding then all is well.

You know what you are doing. I'm sure you will know when the time comes that stock needs to be thinned out a bit.

I don't mean to be rude but some of your stock is already showing the signs of stunting, ie: Uaru, Severums, Blue Acara, EBJD, Bristlenose Plec etc

If that is the correct sizes, some of the fish you had for 2 years should be fully grown.

For example, i have had some Sevs for 6 months and they are already hitting 6", Blue Acara I had was 5" by 6months, My Bristlenose i just got rid of i had for 1 year and he was over 6".

Again i'm not being rude, but most fish should be at least 75% of there maximum size inside 1 year.

Just want to add, my main tank is very stocked to with mixes of Africans and CA's, so I'm not one to talk :D

My blue acara is a proven female. So she is not going to get 6" I think about 5" is perfect for her. My ebjd is a deformed reject a very poorly bred fish. So that why he is small and really ugly. The red spot severum I don't know what's up with that fish he does not look "stunted" his eyes are good size for his body. I think inbred fish are just are hit or miss with how big they grow. As for the uarus they were a rescue. I got them this size with bad HITH and messed up fins they lived in poor condition. Yes they could be stunted for sure.

My green severum I think is good size at 7" and a year old he will be 2 next fall. My parrot is still growing. Every month the other fish start to look smaller. My green severum might even be still growing too. So that's the storie about that your right about a few fish being stunted. I'm looking to sell my ebjd I put an add up.

The 80gal might get split up down the road I have empty tank just need to find a place to put them.

Where is your blue acara now? How big is it ,did you ever take him out and measure him? Keeping fish is much like catching fish, they always seem to be bigger then they realy are unless you take them out and measure. Yes my BN pleco also a female was in a 36gal most her life that was always lightly stocked maybe she is "stunted" or maybe just small. Most of these fish have been moved around from differant tanks over the years they were not kept in the 100gal stocked like this all their life. These tanks are the fullest I have even had them.

I could not help noticing your Steatocranus/Blockhead Cichlid that you nursed back to health like the Uarus is not listed... What happened to it?

I forgot about him After I posted it. How could I he is a funny one. He is 5" and was near death when I got him. I hope someone want to take my ebjd. I still think the uarus might have to go then my stock will be better.

Here is a full tank shot.

Thanks. I think I could do with one or 2 less fish but for now it works. Or a larger tank would be good.
