Fry!

Well, there's quite a few wee tails hanging down! :good:

Dad's still on guard, but there's one particular baby I've been watching for a while now, it keeps kinda falling then swimming back up all by itself!
They're so small and cute

Will get pics when they're out and about!

Oooh how exciting for you!! Looking forward to seeing pics x

Ok, well, had problems with the MW culture - I don't see anything crawling up the sides...

So, since today was the day to feed the babies I used the egg yolk method and fed them with that[let it dissolve in water and put it into a scooshy gun and gave them 2 scooshes of it]. Will remove any left overs in a while. I've still left the male in with them - should I remove him now? He's still picking them up and blowing them about, but his nest is falling apart now so there's not really anywhere to blow them to. They aren't swimming about, they're sticking to the sides of the glass  But they are alive, every so often they go for a "swim" then stick somewhere else again. Is that normal?

I've also used the boiled potato in a jar of water method to get some infusoria to feed them if all else fails again.

Dad should be left in for around 3 days, when the fry go from tails down to tails along. Have a really close look at your culture you may/should be able to see patches of wiggling on the oats (or whatever base you have) if so just scoop some off. I had to do this to start with plus put them in a warm place they seem to spread quicker. Good luck

p.s my babies sat on the sides alot, dad will do his job you just have to sit back

Awww congrats on the fry!
Your male looks just like Mace, my HM male & your female cambo looks just like Piper, my female cambo lol who I am planning to spawn from soon!

One question though, as I can't seem to find the answer to this - do cambo females show the vertical bars?

Anyone have any tips of how to take pics of these little guys while they are so small? I tried different angles etc, used the macro setting with all the things exactly the same as it is whenever I take photo's of the big fish. But the bubbles are reflecting off the flash..

When i took mine the room was dark and i used the light from the tank, no flash as it just bounces off the bubbles and glass, i have a super macro on mine so i used that. Also get a pic from further back as you can always crop it and zoom in, i had to do this with the most recent baby pics i added Oh and i had to take a few shots and pick the best. Hope that helps
