Hi, I have a spare tank, It is about 10 gallons, and would like to use it as a fry tank and maybe growing out cherry shrimp as its bigger than the one im using now,

First I would like to know if the two go together, or if their requirments are so different it wont work.

And also what has worked well for others, in terms of substrate, deco, plants etc.

It has got light, filter, and heater already.

many thanks.

i have set up a grow out tank and found that a sponge filter conected to a air pump works best,,,,
as for decoration i have nothing, no gravel, much easier to water change and keep clean,,after all its only a grow out fry tank :good:

Im using a sponge filter connected to an air pipe in my current fry tank, would that still be big enough for 10 gallons.

What nothing at all??? Is that ok, mind you if it works well for you that maybe the route I will take. Will that be ok for shrimp as well?

Thanks so much for reply,

sorry not sure on shrimp but,,,,my lfs where i get my feeder shrimp,,sorry,,,,has a sponge filter in the tank and its bare otherwise,,
you could put gravel/sand in if you like but for me i find it easier to clean, bare bottomed
