I have blood parrot fry in a jar floating in my 36 gallon.Theyre from a friend who had a pair spawn and i have about 9. ive been doing 50% water changes if not more each day and try to feed twice a day. if i can only feed once i put enough in and do a water change when i come back from work. theyre growing slowly but surely. im pretty sure its early in week 3 and have never raised fry before. i feed crushed flakes, crushed freezedried bloodworm, crushed tubifex, crushed algae and shrimp tabs and insuforia(sp). they eat everything i give them and understand they are hungry a lot.

when do i take them out? i have a spare 3 gallon id like them to go into next and a 10 gallon for them to start growing out in. thanks

get them in a tank as soon as possible

acclimitising slowly if different water

make sure fully cycled

try feeding bbs and microworms

I dont know about that particular fry but with my livebearers I would already have them in the 3 gallon if there is no other fish in there.

If you have a 10 gallon for grow out, move them into it. The water changes in a jar are critical but in the 10 gallon you could go a few days between changes. The water quality would stay better for the fry than in a jar in a 10 gallon too. Even if the 10 is not cycled, the jar isn't either so the smaller water volume becomes the major factor in the fry's water quality.
