 hi i never have any problem with breeding goldfish in my garden pond,i just let them do there own thing, which they seem to do very well, last year was a very good year i have lots of youngsters, why are they all black in colour and how long will it be before they revert to the normal goldfish colour?not worried just interested fishbie23

The reason they are all black is that fry are the colour of the wild crucian carp which goldfish originally came from they change colours at different times and depending on the sun but should have changed at about a year old.

Goldene is right, some will stay that colour (small proportion) but most will change to a more commonly seen Goldfish colour in 8-12 months.
