so, i have a single variatus platy fry, all on his own in a 14 litre. Happy (my fry) is <2cm long and 4-5
on sunday i a mgoing on holiday and dont know what to do with him.

the adults in their 90 litre tank will get a tetramin holiday feeding block but Happy doesnt eat those blocks.

my dad says my aunt (next door) can come and check on the fish occasionally but not every day.

also he suggested moving Happy next door where he can have proper attention, but they have no experiance with fish except goldfish from the fair, who lived in unfiltered, un tapwater conditioned bowls.

what i think i'll have to is let Happy live next door but take the bin i put prepared water in there to, and the little bucket i take the water out with, and give strict instructions.

any suggestions???

Fry really need feeding a few times per day, but given what you have said about next doors reputation, I would take my chances and leave him where he is. Hopefully he will eat the block when he knows there is nothing else. He is much more likely to die if they mess up his water.

well that waa when they were kids...

i keep a sort of bin thing with declorinated water in for Happy, to get it at the right temperature etc so if i took that with him???

actually they probably wouldnt like a big ugly plastic bin in their house. so: what if they would come check on the fish once or twice a week and when they come they could change a bit of water and put in a bit of food???
