Hi there,

New to the board. I have shuffled my tank around and need some direction from the forum to improve.

I have attached a copy of the image.

Been experimenting from this

To this after last nights water change http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj159/R.../Picture018.jpg

I am thinking I need a carpet of Cuba or hair grass.

The tank itself is around 77l and have rehomed the discus as it was getting bulled. He/she(unsure of sex) was dark colour and a recluse for a month and now seems to have perked up alot

Welcome to all comments.

Thank you for reading.

Thank you. The tank is 77litres, but currently on the lookout for something bigger which can house ove 100l.

However been unlucky and outbidded at the last minute on ebay :(

It currently houses around 20+ cardinals, 1 red cover discus, 6 amano shrimps, 1 pair of rams, 2 panda corys and 1 leopard plec.

I do daily water changes.

stunning tank! love the moss!

it is overstocked  but by the looks your correcting that :good:

I know, its a matter of time before I sort it out.

Ok, silly noob question but what is overstocked? I mean what should I remove in order to allow the tank to be properly "stocked"?

I know a few keepers with even more fuller tanks than myself and rarely does water changes, whereas I do a daily 10-15% water change and suck up the discus/plec poo when I return from home. The difference is they have smaller fish and I have the discus which "stocks" up my tank.

I just leave a bucket of water when I leave for work and upon return just top up with hot water untill the correct temp and replace.

hey ^^

well =/

the Rams need 90L minimum, so they require 20gallons

I think Discus need to be kept in groups of around 3 in a much much larger tank, i think it is 90gallons

But if its all going fine and you are getting a larger tank then all i can say is wise choice :)

Sorry if i sounded rude mate

No its fine, I dont know how many gallons etc I needed for each fish anyways. I think mine is around 18 gallons.
However I am hoping to pick up a 125l tank in the next few days.
