I was missold this little guy, and as he started to grow I realised what he was. He is about 2 inches long now, not sure what type of macrobachium he is, but not one of the huge ones. He's an active fellow, zooming around the tank a lot, more confident than normal shrimp and you'll see him a lot.
The reason I have to find him a new home is that he has started to go for my baby celestial goldfish, which are terrible swimmers, with poor eyesight and long fins, so very tempting. He should be fine with fast fish, he gets along with my WCMs just fine, and he is fine with my other shrimp, but I would advise that he is not kept with slow-moving fish with long fins. The main problem is fin nipping.
Not sure on the exact temp these shrimp require, although they are not cold water. I was sold him as 'temperate' but like I said, he was missold me as a normal temperate ghost shrimp. He has been doing very well at 22c, and I've had him at 20c too, but I think these shrimp can be tropical as well.
I want this little guy to go to a good home, asap, or he'll have to go back to the pet shop.
