Free Fish - Free Fish - Free Fish

How many black widow tetras do you have and do you have any angels because if you can ship them to me I'd take them?
From the UK to the USA ? I think not.....

Why is there some kind of law stating that you can't ship livestock from country to country?

There are laws in place, but I am not sure of the guidelines - there are ways around them. Most people who send fish internationaly don't inform the courier of the contents, but this may mean they will be more rough with the parcel, and the fish may be stressed, injured, or killed in transport.

Well then how do people get fish shipped from thailand to either the UK or US?

Hi Durbkat,

There are laws in place, but it's not illegal. We have approximately 35,000,000 Fish and other aquatic creatures entering the UK each year through Heathrow.

True, but they come through the proper channels and DEFRA. Countries have these laws in place to protect their own environment, fauna & flora. Why circumvent this and disregard the law ?
The US has different laws - of which I have no knowledge.

Besides, it's not reasonable to ship a few pet fish from the UK to the USA. This time of year especially they will no doubt turn up dead :/
