Just wondering if anyone would be interested in some apple snails. I'm thinning them out and mainly keeping the larger snails so if you want any let me know. They are FREE TO COLLECT, take as many as you want. I wont post them as I just dont have the time or bags/boxes.

Collection only from Winlaton Mill NE21

There are a mix of golden and striped snails. They are free to whoever can collect

How big do these snails grow to and can they be kept in coldwater or does it have to be heated?

They say they can get to 6 inches across, but I've never ever saw an apple snail bigger than 2-3 inches

t'internet claims temps of 18-28 degrees, and mine have been kept at 25.5 deg

My tank is back in peterborough but I am travelling back down this saturday so would they be okay in transit for several hours? Also what tank size would you suggest for these snails?

I've go loads in a 240L tank and you'll be thinning out the offspring before long so wouldn't wory about what size tank you have.

As for travelling, they'll be fine as long as there's plenty of water in there. Remember that people post these and they can be on the move for days.
