For Uk Veiwers

Was an interesting watch, thanks for the heads up :)

I liked seeing the pirhanas vs the other fish, they never touched the wolf fish or those cichlids. Was pretty cool.

Any idea if it's repeated in the near future. I was moaned at by my better half for watching it as it was tea time and apparantly that Nigel bloke is a bit annoying.

they didnt that time, but they did try, it was the instincts of the Wolf fish to clamp its fins and dig its tail into the ground. The Cichlids grouped in a circle all facing outwards leaving no easy soft target.

Cheers Wolf........****ing missed it. If it's on again let us know......BTW everyone who saw it.....any good?

Anyone know what those cichlids were btw? I thought that circle thing was especially smart.

Very good, basically getting to see various pirhanas with stuff like angelfish, wolf fish, crocodiles, turtles, silver dollars, pacus, that cichlid I don't know, giant otters - all in their natural environment (though I think some of the show it was filmed in a tank). You also got to see piranhas breed :D.

Keep a look out on google video, there's usually Nigel Marven stuff on there, if this isn't on now its bound to be sometime in the future :good:.

Seen it before, but it did'nt stop me watching it again. What a breathe of fresh television considering the crap that's been on of late.
Excellent program, need more like it.

I'm glad most of you got to see it.
I'm not a great fan of Mr Marvin but this one was well worth it.
for those that have Sky, keep an eye out on the animal channels
(discovery animal planet, nat geo channel etc) as that is where I saw
this a few weeks ago and they do tend to repeat programs quite often.
I will of course let you know if i spot it, hopefully with a bit more notice.

I too was impressed with those cichlids defence strategy very enlightening

Not a bad program although the presenter was a bit much he thought he was a bit of a Steve Irwin. Anyways pretty good viewing not enough fish programms on tv. Oh and btw the cichlids you saw were Cichlasoma dimerus and also Keyholes.
