Hey folks,

What's the best food for guppies? I went to the fish store and asked for guppy food the guy gave me TetraMin Plus and Brine Shrimp. The Tetra min plus is a harder than Brine shrimp. i saw my guppies more enjoy the Brine shrimp than the other one.

What type of food is the tetra min plus? Is it flake? If it's flake that's a good staple diet. Are the brine shrimp frozen? I feed mine flake 2 days then freezesried bloodworms then 3 more days of flake then live baby brine shrimp and then repeat the cycle.
I suggest you use flake as a staple then use the brine as a treat once per week. :good:

omg, you have so many different food at home lol. I thought just one or 2 different kinds are good enought

Ok so the brine shrimp are freeze-dried. I suggest you feed the flake 6 days a week and the brine 1 day a week or if you want them to be extra happy you could buy something else like bloodworms. Frozen or freeze-dried it doesn't matter.
I also feed mine cucumber, algae wafers (those 2 are mainly for my algae eaters), bottom feeder pellets (all my fish eat these), and the occasional spinach piece :good:

Welcome to our forum uMc.
Actually, freeze dried food is about as good as it gets in terms of preserving the nutrients that are present in the original food. That does not mean that it is superior to simple flake food because almost any frozen or freeze dried foods are simple and are not a full diet for your fish. Most commercial flake or pellet is made with the idea to provide all needed nutrients and in that sense are superior to frozen or freeze dried foods. Treat frozen, live or freeze dried foods as occasional supplements to the basic diet your fish get from flake or pellets and the fish will thrive.
