Just a wild, careless question here from a non-engineer... Has anyone ever heard of or seen an aquarium that can be assembled in pieces by one or two people, and then disassembled if it ever needs to be moved?

As everyone here knows, anything over 30 gallons is heavy and unwieldy, too much for my poor body. It would be nice if there were a tank that could be broken down for a move in sheets instead of 5 people perilously shouting at eachother to move this way or that as they try and fit a $500 70 gallon through a narrow doorframe.

"Folding" may have been too generous. It would even be fine if there were some type of strong, water tight epoxy used on a tank that could be stripped and removed over a period of days, and then reapplied afterwards...

I've never seen or heard of anything like that & tbh I don't think it could be done.
I'd love to be proved wrong though

A kiddies paddling pool with a transparent side window? :D

well, I suppose if they could make the corner supports sturdy enough it could be done.

Just a frame base, 4 corners and 4 panes of glass which could slide into the corners.

(Obviously this is from a brain that has no idea about mass and pressures)

You could always strip the sealant from the tank and then reapply. Then they're just pieces of glass.

Generally anything that can be taken apart suffers from larger structural components that limit the viewing angles and therefore the cosmetic look of the tank. There are however some marine ply tanks out there that could have the glass taken out that would be easier to take to pieces and put back together more reliably.

I have never seen a tank that can be broken down but an acrylic tank is very light compared to a similar sized glass tank. It may be a bit of a challenge with day to day maintenance but it is a joy to move.
