After looking at some of the posts on a thread raised by my mate Birch, I decided to go out last weekend to the local reptile shop and purchase a Hagen Exo Terra Fogger.
For anyone who doesn't know what this is, it's a little component about the size of a 50 pence piece which you suspend around an inch under the water surface. When switched on this produces fog which hangs around the surface of the water if the tank is contained by a glass lid. If you have an open top tank, this will obviously just disperse into the air. Also, you can't just leave one of these on all the time as obviously, the water level in the tank would drop too much.
Anyway, I dropped the water level this weekend to just underneath the top of the tank and bought a green LED spotlight to shine through the fog. My vision was that when I turned my normal light off when I get home from work, I could start the fogger and switch the green light on so it looks like a green fog floating around the top of the water. It does look alright, but it doesn't look half as good I imagined it.
More to the point; I just wondered if any of you guys with your creative minds could conjure up any other decent ways to use the fog as a feature in my tank.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'm out of ideas. Thanks for reading!
