I have a Fluval 204 which I have had on my 30gal tank for approx 2 months now.

A problem I have had for quite some time is....when I clean the sponges (with tank water of course) then hook the filter back up....I get a lot of air and debris being spitted back into the tank...the debris eventually stops but the air/bubbles doesn't. The only way I have discovered to stop this is to let the water flow out of the tank through the fluval intake and outtake tubes (into a bucket)...

Is this normal? Does anyone else experience this?

Also....since I need to do this anyway to get the water flowing out of the filtr proeperly, would it be a problem if I used this method to drain the tank during a water change?

Jus a thought I had

TIA....C

I have fluval filters and had the same problem i now use the buket of old tank water after a water change set it in there and turn it on for a few mins then put it back in the tank that way all the gunge is blown into the buket instead of the tank. ;)
