Fluval Edge

Got a nice surprise for a xmas pressy a 23ltr Fluval Edge, its been given a home in the dining room but now I need ideas to stock it.
I dont want to put a heater in it and where it is the kitchen/diner it never gets cold and the room is south facing as well so its always pretty warm.
Would pygmy cories be all right without a heater?, Ive got some in a tank with shrimp and they seem ok at the lower temp range, also what sort of plant would be suitable without a heater or is that not as important, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I wouldn't advise putting cories into a tank with no heater. Why don't you want to put a heater in there? I started out with this tank, and it is lovely but I got frustrated with how little selection of fish I could have =[

I'd say a betta. Maybe some amano, ghost or red cherry shrimp. Make sure you cycle it first
I wish I got a tank for a present.

I have an Edge & am in the same area as you, so I would suggest getting a heater as the temp will drop quite a bit as the winter goes on, even if the room is south facing
My room is too & gets quite chilly overnight
A heater will also give you more options as to what fish you can have

I'd also put a heater in there - it's simple enough and there really isn't much you can put in the tank if you don't.
If you put a heater in there, I think a group of microrasbora (chili, galaxy, etc) or ember tetras would look nice, or some male endlers. Killis may also work, though I know very little about them. A few male guppies may be pushing it, though a betta is always an option too. You'd have to watch the surface of the water with them being air breathers though, it may be advisable to lower the water level slightly if you went for one as the gap in the top where there is access to air is pretty small. Alternatively, I'm sure it would always make a nice shrimp tank.

I personally wouldn't put pygmy cories in a tank of this size - nearer 10 US gallons/38L would be better as opposed to 23L. They may be small, but they're pretty active little things
