Fluval Edge Tank For A Noobie.

Hi guys my Tetra 6 in 1 test Results as follows.

NO3=10
NO2=1
GH=8D
KH=6od
PH=7.6

I have written the results as they appear on the strip CL2 was ok aswell.

I have yet to add the ammonia and sggestions on how much i should add?

I added my ammonia about 4 days ago, and I bought a cheap seringe from boots, and after doing the calculations I added 1.3ml of boots Ammonia (9.5%) to my tank and it has given me 4 to 5 ppm of Ammonia in my Fluval Edge. I didnt like to do the drops direct from the bottle as I trialed this by dripping 20 drips into a shot glass and then repeating 3 times and the difference was enough to encourage me to use the seringe.

Im getting very low Nitrite and Nitrate at the moment, Ammonia is 4 to 5 ppm, PH is 6.5 to 7.

My plants seem to be doing well, and all my bubbles and cloudyness has cleared. So now just sitting, waiting, testing, sitting, waiting, testing lol.

Glad to hear all is going well! I dont mind the waiting so much but i am itchin to get some stock going.

Did you get the fluval gravel cleaner? there is a big ark up here in Dublin for the fluval stuff so i think onlie is the place to get it,if its any good.

Hi Lee
I bought a standard gravel cleaner, not the fluval one, didnt even know about it lol. But the one I bought with pipe, valve and hose length is perfect for my needs.

My tank is nearly there, Im on my 2nd ammonia cycle, its dropped once and now I've topped it back up again to 4 to 5 ppm. Nitrite is very high/off the scale at 3.3ppm and my nitrate is climbing nicely about 60 to 80.

Hows yours doing Lee.

Its not clear if Lee has the liquid test kit or the ammonia yet, so I don't think he's started.

Hi guys been off line for a bit.

I did the ammonia a couple of weeks ago and testing seems good. I went out to the LFS and got my water tested all good.

I have since introduced a few fish. Tank is looking good fish appear to be fine. I will continue testing,water change and watching the fish.

David how is your tank going?
