i have a fluval c3 filter but i always see people posting about their u series fluval. whats the difference and which is better?

I have a fluval C2 and I love it! Although sometimes if you do a big water change and the water level goes below the pipe thingy, it can be a right pain in the backside to get it to suck water back up... don't know if it is just mine though. :dunno:

yeah same here. you gotta pour water into it to reprime it whenever you do a water change, and moving the lever.to the left (low flow setting) helps it start back up better

The U Series are internal filters. Totally different. I have a C3 and it is pretty good. I do prefer AC filters though because they are easy to clean and you can different media when you want. The C-Series is unique with their "wet/dry" bin but not much ability to deviate from their intended setup. I use bio-max in the pull-up bin in front of the sponge holder. No carbon.

They don't re-start after WC's as well as the Aqua Clears either. I usually leave that filter off until my water level is back to square and fill it with tank water. It usually takes twice as long as my AC's. And these will probably take the place of the AC's some day so I hope they get the setup right before they do.

yeah i got an AC30 on my ten gallon and i think i like it a little better than tye c3 but it seems like the c3 puts out a good amount of bubbles, maybe from the trickle if does over the bio balls

as for the u series being internal, is that better or worse in any way or just preference?
