Fluval 305 Hoses

Hi there
I currently run a fluval 305, which has been very good to date. My question is has anyone managed to change the fluval ribbed hoses for amore standard 'Eheim' type hose?
The reason I ask is that I would like to remove the heater from wihin the tank and replace it with a Hydor inline version. does anyone know the pipe diameter size or if special clips are required?

it changed the hoses on my old Fluval 303 many years ago. I used some clear plastic hose from the hardware. You can use any sort of hose as long as it fits on the motor fittings/ outlets.

Yes it can be doone, and you may need to reduce the hose size via hose reducers.

thanks for feedback, clear tubing would be great. my only concern and I may be wrong bu isn't the fluvel piping 17mm and not 16mm. I know its only 1mm but on a push on fitting would this hold?

It gets pushed on, and then the two other bit's twist round to secure it on, so a mm or two makes no difference...if that description makes sense . But yep, it holds .

I've played around with eheim tubing on a couple of different externals and find you can pretty much get that kind of hose to squeeze over anything safe and securely. Worst case scenario, use a jubilee clip .
