flouder ID

Water changes are the same as with FW tanks with water needing to be changed acording to bioload, on my 80g brackish i only change water once every 3 weeks as the protein skimmer and nitrate adsorbing media take care of the water quallity for the main part and on my 20g brackish i change water every 2 weeks as it has a very low bioload with just 6 bumble bee gobies, a 2" GSP , 2 sand gobies and a flounder in it.

Oki dokey, every 2 would be a good start then.

would a bricardi lamprologus get on with the orange cromide?

L.bricardi is a tanganyikian fish not brackish as far as im aware

hmmm i swear i heard you could get away with them in brackish!!

any other cichlids or similiar i can use?

also is it worth me getting a small protein skimmer for it or not bother??

and 1 more thing.....what SG should i aim for, I think i'm going to use the drip method to get the flounder over to brackish rather than adding salt bit by bit.

The SG depends on what you are keeping and how old they are, id start at about 1.003 and then increase it as needed.

Cichlids and oddballs dont usually mix well due to territorial needs etc, personally i'd stick to gobies and other small brackish oddballs.

Oki dokey, going to sort everything out tomorrow seeing as I'ved got half term.

Going to have to start searhing for my stock aswell!!

flounder has now been in brachish water for a good few hours at 1.004.

just had a look thorugh your pinned topic CFC and wondering whats the max ammount of salt the fish you listed can take??

urm and 1 more Q for now, when should i start increasing the SG?
