Florida Members - Where Do You Buy?

hey guys. so i'm really interested in purchasing a couple of "better" bettas than what you find at a local store. i would ideally want an all-white double-tail or halfmoon, and a black orchid crowntail. those are the two i really want, but i'm open to other things if i can find something that'll sway me. however, i dont want to buy a fish online! i refuse to buy something LIVE 1) without seeing it first-hand and 2) putting it through that whole shipping process!

so is there anywhere or anyone in south florida (preferably over northern florida 'cause in Miami) that breeds and/or sells more exotic bettas? or any store that you happen to know for a fact has better than the regular VTs?

Most Bettas have quite a journey - a few miles further wont hurt

I don't know if you guys have Petco's in FL or not but I know recently when I've gone into Petco they've had some really nice bettas. The past 2 times I've been in there they have had CT, HM, and one PK. I bought a beautiful HM from them and he is really young and healthy.

I have to agree about Petco. I am not usually a fan of chain stores, but there are 2 Petcos near me and they both have pretty nice fish. I have seen a nice variety of healthy looking bettas in both as well.

yeah i've got a PetCo though not exactly next door. I used to go there a lot before, they have nice plants and drift wood. Also have a lot of nice fish from time to time. Never really paid attention to the bettas there though, might have to go back
