I've got a piece of bogwood at some point in the past, and for some reason the sodding thing won't sink. I've tried soaking it for a couple of weeks but its made no difference. Looks identical to every other piece of bogwood I've ever owned.

Any suggestions?

Cool, I'll dump it in the goldfish bucket for the time being (80L bucket, whilst I sort out a stand for their new 125L) and wedge it under the filter.

Cheers Nelly.

Silicone it to a bit of rock, then bury the rock under the substrate so only the wood shows.

You sure its not driftwood?
We had the proplem yesterday, but pile some rocks on it and it should be fine. BEWARE you will get annoyed. My dad was shouting for about 10 minutes, then an hour later he was still on about it.

Good Luck.

ive got a big bit o redmoor root in my tank that i soaked for 4 weeks and still it floated so i weighted it down with some rocks, even then it was another couple of weeks before it would sink on its own

try boiling it for an hour or so then dunk it straight away into cold water it worked for me, or drill some holes into it where they wont be seen an stick some weights in, if it wont sink after you have tried leaving it in the tank for a couple if weeks

Might try boiling then dunking, in no rush though - its just a spare piece.

Cheers guys.
