Fishy love

Thanks guys. No fry yet. I've been leaving them alone and not looking, but I just grabbed this pic...

Busy, busy. Wash and move, wash and move...

When I zoomed in on the eggs via my camera, I could see the little fry developing

The mollies are tripping me out. I've noticed the last couple of days that the female molly will pace back and forth, up and down beside the krib area and the kribs allow her. Which says to me that she is purposely doing it to make them comfortable...? I know that's far fetched but it's just as weird to see :dunno:

3-8 days, from what I've read. So, could be today...could be early next week B)
These are my first cichlid babies so I'm not certain. I'll keep ya's posted!

Not much to report here. The fry have hatched, but I haven't seen them since (only a slight glimpse one time, and that was enough to make my heart pitter patter)
Mom and Dad moved them way back to the clay pot covered with driftwood, the place I had originally set up for them to spawn in since it's oh so private. I expect them to make an appearance soon enough. I have bbs waiting for when they do :hey:
And there will be pictures, oh yes, there will be pictures

I can't wait for those pictures. The new tank is gorgeous, and you can tell that they love it. And that Midas looks like such a character! He's gorgeous.

Thank you
Well, I'm quite excited right now. I just came home from the ACA cichlid convention here in town and I bought a lovely little candy stripe pleco for the tank. I planned to put him at the opposite end and when I got home and went to add a cave for him, I found mama krib down there with oodles of babies! This is their first time out! At first it flipped me out to see her at that end, I haven't seen much of her lately, only when she darts out to eat OR sticks her face out through the hole in the bottom of clay pot  Which is hilarious, by the way.

Anyway, I've been feeding the babes microworms for a couple of hours now, they loooove them, and she's so adorable on alert. I dunno what's up with dad, he's back at the clay pot. I was wondering if maybe they split up and she left with the kids -_- :p
I anxiously wait for her to pack them up and head back home. The poor pleco in the bag waits too...

Hooray for babies! Looks like you got a good number from them. Can't wait to see more pictures as they start getting bigger.

 Hooray, is right! They are so exciting and adorable!! I'll guess that there are about 50 of them.

It seems that mom really did leave dad :/ She looks so,so tired and I really wish she'd let him help out, but she has stayed at the other end of the tank all night chasing everyone off. Last night I watched her clear out a spot under a rock (where she could barely fit), she put the fry in there and sat on gaurd , and this morning she has them back in the corner in a small open area.
I see dad occasionally mosey his way down and she lashes at him, so for now he hangs out at the other end with the new plec, living the bachelor life. It seems I'm the only one who's allowed to look.
Either way, the fry think she's fantastic    So do I

Aaaaawesome!!! They're so, so cute! ^_^

:*)   I know! Adorable!
I wasn't sooo engrossed in them today, as I was sort of busy, but I peeked in once and found mom edging close to the filter intake with them and it scared me, so I moved the filter. I dunno if she was trying to give them street smarts or what, but jeeeez...

I took this yesterday @ 1 week old

She is!!
Here they are at week 2 (Saturday)

They have little dorsals now, they're starting to look like fish and not tadpoles :p It's funny that they hatched the same day as my wild betta fry, and they're pretty much developing at the same speed (not sizewise though, bettas are tiny!) But they all got their dorsals on the same day, two weeks from the day they hatched exactly.

Mom never went back to Dad :/
And I've also found three molly fry in the tank. Lucky for them they have taken refuge in the 8/10 of the tank that she and the fry control. They're impossible to miss so I know she knows they're there.
