I caught my kiddo lovin' on the midas this morning, so I grabbed the camera before they noticed :p Ignore his green glass  The window shines right on his tank and he HATES the algae magnet.

Aaaaand, this little guy here. (Yes, I have a few livebearers, it's my dirty little secret  )
These were originally given to me as feeders last year. I don't give my fish feeders but there I stood with a bag of a dozen molly fry...what to do? So I chunked them in my front tank and nobody ever bothered these three, so I eventually pulled them out and put them in my krib tank. They did wonders for the kribs. The kribs are no longer shy and they really get along well. I'm in the process of moving the fish from their small tank into a four footer, it should be done by tonight. Anyway, I was watching this one male last night and he's so beautiful

He was just a few days old when I got him, now he's around 7 months old and just gorgeous  I'm going to get a few more when I move them to the big tank. Right now I only have the three (two boys, one girl, yipes!)
Kribs wondering why I'm not looking at them..

Beautiful shots wuv. That Midas must be the main attraction in that tank, he's huge! Whats size of tank is he in?
He's a tank buster alright :S I think we've had him for *almost* two years and he's doubled in size within that time. He's in a 50 right now, but (fingers crossed) I hear Santa is bringing me a 280 for Christmas so he will have the 120 to himself then :hyper:

Thanks for the comments, guys :)

WoW fab pics ! and really gorgeous fish !

great pics wuv, just wondering about the mollies and kribs. do you salt the tank at all?

Nope. No salt, yet. I was pondering on that a few minutes ago while planning the new set up.( I'm going to use one of those 4 foot shallow tanks that I usually use to grow out bettas . It will fit perfectly across the top of my entertainment center.)
I was thinking that I will start adding a pinch of salt to their water now that I've actually noticed the mollies (they were just feeders mind you, and then they were just intended to calm the kribs ) but I hate to change when everybody has been doing so well. Decisions, decisions,( but I think I'll remain salt free for now.) I love 'new tank set-up' day! :hyper:

Thanks, bloozoo :)

heh heh, he thinks he's people anyway  He hasn't seen another fish in well over a year. We joke around about how he probably wonders "Why won't these guys just let me out of the box so I can sit on the couch with them?"

Midas lips look so human it's freaky!
He is certainly one fantastic looking fish, but it makes me glad mine is a hybrid and a female, and therefore not likely to develop the hump :p

In the krib pic it looks like the female is giving the male a peck on the cheek

the kribs are in looove  I set up the tank and they are swimmin' fancy free. I think they love their new pad. I set up a corner with lots of cover and their clay pot, they went right in  Then they were weaving in and out of the rock work together

I'm hoping to get a female (midas) when he gets the big tank. That would be awesome. I'm pretty sure mine is a hybrid as well.

That krib tank is an awesome shape! I want one like that!! :hyper:

Yeah, I hear pretty much all midas and RDs on the market are hybrids... but most of them are hybrid midas/RD, not hybrid midas/blood parrot like mine

Ohhhh yeah, I forgot about the BP in yours

I like that tank, too. It used to be stuffed away in the fishroom, I'm glad to have it out in the open now. I added some more rocks, I think it looks good  I'm terrible at tank decor and I think this is my favorite so far (aside from my L200 tank)
