Thanks guys. It's great now because of the additional shelf. Before I got it every shelf was full of adults and I'm thinking "where on Earth am I going to put all the reds when the time comes?!"
Now I don't have to worry about that for a few more spawns

EDIT~ speak of the devils Today we're having a minor case of "all hell breaking loose" in the red tank. They've been jumping ALL day,literally flying into corners or a few inches out of the water when I walk in the room,not like them at all. So...I started jarring all (or most) of the males. Those left in the tank seem a bit calmer, I'm still not sure if I got the trouble makers or not.

How much money have you spent on all of that equipment? I have though about spawning but I dont know how much money it involves. Im just 17 with a job dishwashing All I have saved up is 300 dollars. If that enough for one spawn?

I think so. You'll need spawning tank equipment (maybe $75). And you can be creative with a grow out tank! I know some of our younger members have used huge rubbermaid tubs,20 gallons and up for a grow out. You can get those for around 10 dollars. Then you'll also need something to jar them in,but you can start saving jars now Spend the rest of the money on your spawning pair

EDIT~ also,if you'll invest in live food cultures,you can feed them for practically nothing for the first 5-6 weeks. Then they get kinda pricey with the frozen food,but one spawn shouldn't be too bad. Again unless it's HUGE like my reds They can eat an entire Hikari flatpack in one meal

I dont meen to double post but...where do you buy special bettas like crowntails and double tails becuase all I can find around here are vientails and they are over bread (is that bread as in white bread or bread as in *hump hump* ?)
Do you know any place that I could buy them? I can buy off of aquabid becuase I cant use my parents credit card. Are you selling any of your bettas ? It seems as if the market has been dominated my vientails that no one can get the other kind of bettas other then if someone knows a betta professional/artist. If you do sell them ill buy them (sorry that come out rude I dont meen to be rude )

No,that's not rude. Note my live food edit up there though because I wasn't sure if you were going to post again. (and it's bred )

It's kinda chilly to ship right now,but there is a couple of betta clubs in NY. I know of BABB (Big Apple Betta Breeders ) and Central NY Betta Club. I bet they have bettas you'll want!! If not, I can hook you up but all I have ready to go right now are red plakats.

They have some bettas now and they lovce em...deffinatly the treasurer.
I couldnt find the city the one central/upstate NY shop was in or how to find it...

Just email them, they'll be glad to have somebody who's interested and a potential new club member. Not sure about their club but I know we give a free pair to new members. Even if they're kinda far though they can ship bettas overnight via priority (2-3 day) mail since you're so close. It couldn't hurt to ask. Don't be shy
