Ok my Ammonia arrived today i have added 2.5ml which it said to add when i checked the calculator. Stay tuned for my updates please.

27.02.11: Ammonia ppm 4.75 (a bit less green than the other test tubes)

01.03.11: Ammonia ppm 4.5
02.03.11: Ammonia ppm 4.0
03.03.11: Ammonia ppm 4.0

Good luck. May i suggest you just put the info in the OP & edit it each day with the new readings? That way we can see at a glance your progress without having to search the whole thread for it.

Throw in media from a cycled tank. I did that, and dropped from 5ppm to 2ppm in 24 hours.

I think the general consensus on that is that plants don't affect the cycle but they do need light to grow, and light+ammonia = algae...
