Fishless Cycle- Stalled? Advice Needed

I thought I'd ask for some advice in a seperate thread to my cycle log.

I've been running a fishless cycle for 13 days and recently suffered a PH drop, having dosed bicarbonate of soda (2 days ago) the PH has risen again but my ammonia has not dropped below 2.4ppm for the last 7-10 days. Nitrite is now upto 0.3ppm and some Nitrate is present (higher value than tap water). Things seem to have been working but I'm confused why the Ammonia doesn't seem to be dropping. I've not added any ammonia since day 1!

Don't worry, that's almost exactly what my cycle did. It dropped to 2ish (can't remember after how many days but my log's still down the page somewhere) and then it didn't go to 0 for ages. From my first dosing to my first 0 reading was 24 days! and mine still got there eventually. I'm sure it'll all be fine.

It can take a lot of patience. My first drop of ammonia to zero levels took 26 days. As long as you are keeping pH and water temp in good ranges, just hang in there!
