I haven't found it to, no. You may find it does, i guess if they are used and therefore shaken on a more regular basis then yes, i suppose it would.. but you'll probably find playing drums will give you the best results.

Oh well.... Did all that and the figures aint changed...ammonia 0 Nitrite .50 nitrate 5.0

Not sure if right, but I decided on a 20ltr change.... Let's see what happens now;-) the filter has definitely changed from a nice white to a creamy colour at the bottom and a dirty white brown at the top ;-)

Well, now I'm totally bamboozled S
After the partial water change, my Nitrites are at 1.0 ppm nitrates are at 10ppm and after adding some ammonia earlier back to 4ppm my readings were .25 ppm...
If thought my levels would have been closer to 0...
