We all have had them, lets hear your best ones.

I had my best but worse one today. I was rearranging my cabinet and i moved the external filter but I hadnt closed the taps or turned the filter off. Upon moving it, one of the pipes got pulled off, water jsut squirted onto the electics, tripped the power and I had to sort it all out with the help of my dad. Lets jsut say, my paretns weren't too pleased with the big puddle of water on the floor and no power for a coupel of mins lol

i was connecting my fx5 up (it was turned off but full) i took the outlet pipe off for some reason and water came pouring out by the gallons soaked my bedroom carpet. ha my dad was freaking out thinking it would start dripping through the ceiling.

That sounds pretty awful
I got one :shifty:
I had a school of Tiger barbs and was looking for some tankmates they wouldn't destroy and stress to death. So, I thought of a red tailed shark. I went to the LFS and brought what I thought was a red tailed shark. Get home and check the internet and realize I didn't have a red tailed shark. So I come across a picture of a red finned botia loach so I figure that was what I had. I went back to the LFS to get two more since they are social and need to be grouped 4 or more. Put them in the aquarium and noticed my social laoch wouldn't let the other loaches anywhere near the bottom of the aquarium. Checked the internet again and realized that my red finned botia laoches were red finned sharks and should be kept alone. that didn't end well.
I've learned though and have gotten a lot better at ID fish.

Not my blunder, but still bad all the same.

My sister once decided to move a 100l fluval tank and cabinet, full, well it didn't last long, one tank and contents covering the whole front room. Not many of the inhabitants survived. I was not happy.
