I have a tank in my office actually. And have been encouraging people I work with to get tanks.
You lucky thing - I suggested we got a tank at work (to combat stress!) and offered to take full responsibility for looking after it but the Chief Exec hates fish so he declined!

I'm also fighting the good fight and one of my colleagues said she was getting a goldfish... I said get 2!

Drop IT? You must be MAD! I'm in IT and I originally went in to it purely because computers are the future and if you know about them you will NEVER be out of work, plus there's something new to learn every day. IT is GREAT! I love IT. Also I can say "I'm an IT girl"!!! :p

My best friend is a high school teacher and keeps a gold fish tank in her classroom, she set it up last year and let the kids name the fish. Of course that meant she had to take it down and move it home over the summer and back again this month, but the kids seem to like it.

Hi Vixen :)

Here's an old thread I thought you might like to read. It was started by a school teacher who was looking for ways to use an aquarium in the classroom as an aid to teaching her students. Our members contributed a number of interesting suggestions. Perhaps if you show it to your teachers they might get inspired to help you get a tank for the school. :D

I work in an elementary school and we have a courtyard complete with fish pond and a few turtles roaming around. I admit to taking treats out to them occasionally...both fish and turtles. For a time, a pair of ducks would even return to the courtyard year after year to lay eggs and raise their babies. They would only allow themselves and the babies to be led out through the building by our Building Service Supervisor at the time. It's just really cool to have these kinds of things at work. :)

I have my tanks in my house. I don't really feel like moving them anywhere else. Anyway, my fish tanks are my number one stress relievers!
