I had same thing where I had 5 White cloud mountain minnows but one always used to drift of with other tank mates but mainly swim around the tank and not stayed in the group.

I have a African congo tinanti cichlid maybe because its lonely as he's is its only species in tank and only bottom dweller, trying to find another one to pair up, he likes to breakup other cichlid fights even though one side of the tank there is a fight he goes swimming from the other side of the 4ft just to break the fight, and he finds cover to strike again lol. Hilarius to watch

 Hehe yea my large silver dollar thinks he's a bala shark, always haging out with the group, maybe i should place a mirror so he can see what he really is, but its good because i only have the one, he used to knock around with my group of tinfoils..maybe he's confused or just cant stand being alone

I have 5 black neon tetra; 4 school and 1 usually sits back from the group but tends to follow my betta round like a puppy

The same with my Tetra, there are 3 of them that are ALWAYS together, yet one of them follows my two platy's around like a puppy that's been given up at christmas. :D

I have a common plec who comes when he is called, will blow me kisses on the surface, will spin round my finger, shake fins and loves to have his belly and head stroked. He use to tap on the glass for treats by taking the thermometer off the glass and hold it, but I have taken the thermometer off him now.

Have a guppy that swims in the pack of rummys all the time.

I have a ballon molly-guppy hybrid. That constantly gives his mother ballon molly 'attention' o_O

Wow, would love to see a vid of that. Any plecs I've had have just hid away...

He is the most unbelievable fish, people that have actually seen him come when called and stoke him usually just stand there with their mouth open.
