Well i am getting a 72"x18"x12" (LxHxW) (55 UK gallons 68 us?) and i would like to know if this is a decent stocking list.

Well i have a blackfin clown, a fire fish and a green chromis that would defo be going in.

could i add

3-4 green chromis
1 lemon peel angelfish (or some sort of dwarf angel)
1 yellow tang (tank big enough?)

Hmm.. is that too many?

Well i was wondering if my tank would be a good size for a copperband butterflyfish, well i know all the troubles in with them but there is a small one at my LFS thats been there for ages and i would love him. I am willing to look into special foods etc (well to an extent) and if i had to drop the tang for the butterfly then i think i would. If my tank is not big enough for either then whats a good fish for my tank size?

is it going to be reef or fish-only? i think that most angels may nip at certain species of corals. i also think that the yellow tang will need at least a 90 gallon tank but not positive and that chromis can get territorial as they get older right?

that tank isnt big enough for a tang they get almost as big as ur tank is wide it will bearly be able to turn around when fully grown, same with copperband

i would say but i wouldnt keep it in anything under a 90 gallon tank.

you could get a blue tang. any gobies? if not, a watchman, neons? cardinal fish. flasher wrasse such as lineatus or labouts (those are my favorites)

Well im getting a 72"x18"x12" (LxHxW) tank and along with my 3 small angelfish and 10 neons and cardinals (not 10 of each). What else could i add? Please dont say guppies and things like that, im looking for something new. I dont want livebarers or other 'normal' or 'everyday' fish. Any suggestions?

So are u doing sw or fw???

Just exploring my options, prolly a saltwater but if not i will get a 48"x18"x18" for a SW.

It would take an absolutely beastly yellow tang to outgrow a tank the size of Betta5's (they rarely grow larger than 8''), and copperbands max out at around 6'', so these two would still be an option, especially in a 6' tank.

In reality, tangs don't need any bigger tanks than a similarly sized, relatively fast moving fish and contrary to popular belief most tangs (and almost all those we use for aquaria) are reef fish and stay away from open water. They do not get diseases, stressed, et cetera if they are kept in a tank that is under 'x' gallons; transfer to almost any aquarium from the ocean is a huge downgrade and a couple of gallons will not make a difference to the fish.

That said, I do generally recommend at least a 75 gallon tank for tangs because they do generally grow rather large; but seeing that Betta5's tank is in fact a six-footer a tang would probably do well in it.

the tanks only 12 inches wide and i think it would stress the tang out if it was half as wide or more than the tank
