Fish Tank Scratch Remover

Hi I have bought my Jewel Rio 125 yesterday and still setting it up however, I can see scratches on the inside of the tank, I was thinking of removing them so is there any scratch removing products for glass tanks and that will be safe for the fishes??

Unfortuantely I think one of the only options is to get the scratches buffed out, which isn't usually an option many people decide to take, it also thins the glass and makes it more suceptable to breaking from the pressure of the water.

Have you filled the tank up yet? Often scratches look worse in an empty tank.

Another thing I have heard works is to put reflectors on the light bulbs, this means you can position the reflectors so that the light isn't shining on the scratches.

EDIT: Just realised you have a Rio 125, most fish shops sell the reflectors.

My brother had a read up and people saying you can use toothpaste and use a brush to rub it in, lol never heard of it but may could just work. We have filled up the tank to check the scratches if they show and yeah its on both sides but overall quite bad but not really bad. However would look much better removed. We probably will not be buffering the tank then, but we had a ring around at a few lfs places and one of them said go to auto glass replace and they could fix it but don't know how they sort it out. We are going to try out toothpaste way first which we never though we'd do lol but hope it makes some effect.
