I am about to purchase a tropical fish tank and wondered whether you can keep it in a conservatory. Our conservatory is East facing, does get quite hot but also has roof and window blinds. Window blinds are blackouts. If possible what would I need to consider?

dont keep it in there, in the summer it will boil and in the winter it will be constantly trying to heat a tank in a cold room. waste of leccy.

Keep it indoors, for their ake!

Need a chiller and a bigger heater than usual. My dad used to have a cichlid tank in the conservatory and as far as I know thats all he had, dont expect it to be cheap though. It's not an ideal place to keep fish.

It could be the perfect placement for fish that do best in temperate water (~ 16-20) but would be happy with an induced summer season for 3-5 months of the year.

thats that one sorted out cheers for the replys phil
