This is going to sound a little crazy but bare with me.

Have you ever seen those little button sized spy cams or even small golf ball sized color cameras?

I can find some of both easily and was wondering what peoples thoughts were on possibly sealing one in an acrylic box or something similar and putting it directly in the tank. I could then stream the video directly from there to my computer. It would give me a whole new view of my aquarium and a chance to get a good view of some more shy fish.

If someone makes or sells a -small- video camera designed to go underwater please let me know where I could find one.

true enough. but wouldn't positioning the tank in a way that lets you see from all sides be better?

good idea you can also get a real good luck at wounds or whatever if evever anythin happens an if you record see who is fighting if anyone

i used to know someone who did this for her roborovski hamsters....it was fun to log on and watch for a bit, I look forward to fishy cam! :good:

My BGK and Plecs are going to be the stars. I've been searching for a slightly higher quality but still very tiny video camera. There are a lot on ebay but by the specs given it seems like most would have a very poor picture.

its an idea many have had. many using ordinary web cams in some sort of housing. couple of things that give problems every time. most, if not all float, even with some form of weight in. focus is a real problem at the distances you will be working at. making a sharp picture hard to achieve. the cable, to connect it to the comp, is long and gets in the way. and suffers from signal loss. but the main problem is how to control the angle and direction of the cam, without causing havoc in the tank.
i did one some time ago, just a rough job to see if it was worth it. it works ok but the problems mentioned above make it a real faff to use, and it sits in the draw now unused.
