ok... so i have found a fish I really want but its the other end of the country to me, i could drive but it will be 8 hours each way, other option is flying, does anyone know if its ok to take a fish on a plane or if it will be safe for a fish because of the pressure?
strange one i know but i really want him.

thanks

fish arrive from farms on planes, but there would probably be restrictrions for carrying them in the cabin.

Im not sure, maybe ring the airline or something?

Not certain about the UK, but you can't carry any liquids on a plane in the US except for small bottles such as cologne. Definitely nothing as large as a bag of fish. Even if you have an unopened bottle of water, you can't take it through security and must throw it away.

Its the same over here now also

ahh yeah the water could be a problem, think im going to call and explain what i want to do and maybe they can help, other way im thinking is an overnight courier, we use one at work that can pick up at 5pm and get to me buy 9am next morning, i have never bought or sent fish this way and its something i try to avoid.
im gonna get him some how :<

Overnight would work fine. Even though overnight shipping is expensive (over here anyway), it's still cheaper than round-trip airfare.

i see a sequal in the making here lol!!!

Just need samuel L Jackson (sp) lol

In the US it's 3 oz. (or about 90ml) or a ""small container" what ever that means. And they must be in clear plastic containers. I don't think you would really want to carry a fish in 3 oz or less although bettas are shipped in much less than that. According to an article last fall though, it looks as though the US plans to relax the limits later this year as technology has made it easier for the x-ray machines to spot dangerous liquids.

forgot to mention its 10inch!

think i might try the courier as long as the owner agrees to get it ready for me. i have a pretty good idea of how to pack it safe
