Hi All,

I have just bought my forth tank!!!! When is it going to stop? lol

I have...

Rena Aqualife Corner
Fluval Duo Deep 600
Aqua-40
and... Elite Style 35 Tropical

Not including my 3 male betta tanks!!!!!!!

Anyone else running out of room? anyone else put a dent in the bank balance this weekend?

Spent about £100 on some new breeding stock-currently in quarantine in one of my spare tanks.

Have 3 big tanks (two of which are divided) and 3 smaller tanks set up at the moment-in a VERY SMALL 1 bedroom flat. I would have more if I had the room!

Put a big dent in the bank this weekend because one of the tanks was piddling water out everywhere-luckily we have a dark carpet in that room so no damage to the carpet but damage to the stand it was on and muck all in the paint! Where the wall was wet the plaster flaked off the wall (bad plaster job when it was first built). Luckily the other half is a plasterer but the new paint and a new stand will cost a few bob! :shout:

Walked into LFS for a wander about, been toying with the idea of a new tank for ages as our current one is to small for the fish that my other half wants, They had an Ocean Free 300 litre tank that was ex display that they were selling off for pretty much half the price of a new one, so we ended up taking that home with us, it looks really good now I've scrubbed it clean and I'm cycling it at the moment, but oh my god I didnt realise just how big this tank is. Its fits in the space we had allocated for it, but it does kind over power the room, but I think its going to look ace when we have it all setup.

£250 for the tank, stand and light, then I bought an Eheim Classic external filter for it and a heater to, so not a cheap Saturday morning...

well i went into Pets at Home 2 weeks ago for dog food, since we were next door in Homebase anyway...came home with a Juwel Rio 180, cabinet & accessories, and about £300 worse off ^^ forgot the dog food though...

easy to get caught up in the excitement of a shiny new tank and accessories.........and forget boring things like dog food!

yea, plus the fact theyre useless and spent 45 mins in the stock room looking for the only rio 180 they had left, when it was out front on a pallet the whole time...

no dogs were harmed in the buying of this fish tank...i remembered before i got home and stopped at the corner shop for some dog food! :good:

I dent my bank balance in the name of fishkeeping every weekend (and sometimes through the week too). Just seems to be par for the course really. :)

I bought a new tank at the weekend too - A bowfronted Aqua One Amazon - 200litre - plus stand - plus huge bag of sand..... Just over £300.... the other half isn't impressed by my fishies were well excited when I showed them their new home!!!

I need to buy plant substrate, new bogwood, some rocks and some new plants before I can even think about starting a cycle - but I'm a very happy girl today!!!

I've spent too much aswell. In recent months I've spent erm...

£50 on a CO2 regulator
£25 on a 2kg Fire extinguisher
£100 at Aqua Essentials on "stuff" including £30 on some great decor wood
erm, countless money on eBay buying plants and whatnot...

I suspect I've probably spent £600 easily over the last 4 months, including the rio 180 for £75 :)

i refuse to keep count, its scary how much i spend, if i actually added it up i would probably have to give up the hobby and cry :)

I dont count either, I have spent way too much over the last few months!!!! my bog wood alone is totaling £100 in about 3/4 bits. Never mind the new tanks / fish / filter / food / plants. Better stop now, scaring myself!

Yes, fishkeeping does get expensive. Wait until you start renting an apartment or house with an extra bedroom so you can have a fishroom. Sometimes that's not even enough, as you can tell by this thread:

These days it's AquaBid that does my bank balance in. Of course, you can't buy just one species, as long as the shipping is so expensive, it's more practical to buy two, and since my corys must be kept in schools.................. :hyper:

I dont think it ever stops, we had to buy a house that had space to build a fish house to be able to contain all my tanks as even a fishroom in the house wouldnt have been big enough, even now with 220 square feet i wish it was just a bit bigger so i could get one or two more tanks in. I've just had a 900 gallon built thats not even set up yet and already i'm running plans through my head for the next bigger one
