my grasp of taxonomy isn't great, but the scientific name/common doesn't have salvinius in it anywhere or char nor does the family given on fishbase

Well, I've just been through all Fishbase's pictures and I couldn't find nowt. Although there was a whole heap of broken images later down the page...

ha ha ha i hope i haven't got the id of it wrong myself , i'm not using the pic from fishbase as for this species fishbase just uses a pic from google. pretty sure it's the same fish though, googled it and found others that look the same.

LOL u better not of got it wrong as i'm sure that pic is of brook trout...........
Also I'm 99% sure it's a salmonid.
