    robbed this idea from another forum, just a bit of fun.

    post a pic of a fish everyone has to guess it's ID, whoever guesses right gets to post the next pic.... and so on.

    make sure you change the filename of the pic if it gives the name of the fish!

    scientific names if you can to avoid confusion over dodgy common names

    here's the first one

    spotted red belly what?? this is why i say scientific names are best, that sort of common name could be applied to hundreds of fish so no way if you can tell if the person guessing really knows or has got it right.

    nope, someone else guessed that on t'other forum, remarkably similar fish but not the same (unless of course pic was mislabelled, don't think it is though, i've checked as many references as i can, think i'm right)

    I believe it is a Cutthroat Trout Oncorhynchus clarki and it is a male in spawning colours.

    give you a clue, it's not a Salvelinus of any sort

    it's not a salmo and the caudal peduncle it to broad......
