Forgot, take the plants out as they won't like the salt either.

It's a 190 litre, but water volume maybe less when you take into consideration gravel and decoration.
190 litre is 50 gallons, so no more than 10 spoons, but make sure you add it very very slow and watch the scaless fish. Columnaris bacteria is more vulnerable for treatment in higher temps, but also kills the fish faster, so so slowly decreasing the temperature will give you more time. And man, I can no way confirm that this is what you have in your tank.
If you eventually come out with survivors, make large water changes to take the salt out.

Don't put normal salt, sea salt is better. It shouln't contain iodine, as it will kill your fish.
well put salt in and the fish ar eating wot ever is on the glass and tank and i keep seeing little worm think swiming round like mad dont know if thats a gd sign or not but fish look a bit happy how long should i leave the salt in for and how much water should i take out when it time to do a water change a a big thank you for the info cheers steve

This should go on for at least a few days, but monitor the fish and if the scaless fish starts exhibiting any stress to the salt, take out. As long as you don't overdose the salt more than that, they could be just fine. I would do water changes as often as possible to remove those nasties from the tank, but replace with dechlorinated water with the right amount of salt added to the same those.

seeing little worm

These maybe harmful or not and unrelated to the disease. Could be caused by bad water quality, overfeading, etc.. which could have led to multiple issues like this. Fish do eat some of these. There was a very usefull section on this forum about these, pinned, but I can't seem to find it

It could be planaria. I found the link:

Check the link I posted. Google the names of the possible ones like planaria and you'll find out. Planaria looks like very small white warms and they do stick on the glass, unless in very high numbers, when your water will be populated with them. If it is something harmless, water changes and syphoning will get rid of it eventually, also fish likes eating these.

And keep us posted about how the fish are doing. You may as well need other treatment if at all no improvement.

Can you post a picture of the fish and worms?

Your best bet is to post it here, as more people will see it.

Open an account on this website:

Then uppload a picture there. Once uploaded, it will give you the links below the picture. Copy the one that says "direct link". There is a button here over the post when you type that is the second to the right of the emoticons :), click on it and paste the link you previously copied from imageshack.

Is your filter running properly? You seem to have a little build up of gunk in your tank. Have you tested your tank for ammonia and nitrites? I'm glad the salt is giving you a temporary fix. Make sure your filter is working properly and when you do a water change, give the tank a good vaccuming as well.

Thanks for the pictures Steve.

I just can't see too well on these pictures. As coleen suggested, do a good hoover of the gravel when changing the water. What filter do you have there? How are the fish doing?
